Playa del Carmen, Mexico
The Tides Hotel in Playa del Carmen was gracious in offering rooms and locations for Oceana's turtle PSA. It is a beautiful and peaceful place, with monkeys in the trees, private pools at each room, and delicous magaritas. Just the kind of place I would love to return when work isn't the focus. However, as so often happens in my business, it also seems like the kind of place that doesn't fit into the budget of an underwater photographer. The key is to enjoy it while you can.
The second night of our project had us shooting near the beach well past sunset. Dark clouds blew in from the horizon, and a storm passed over Cozumel and crossed the few miles that seperated the island from mainland Mexico. The lights of the distant city stood out sharply in the sinking light and made a distinct border between sea and stormy sky. These are some of my favourite images from the trip.

Love the stuff. . . I wish I was half as enthusiastic as you are about making 'art' images. . . again, really nice stuff.
